I can’t keep up with the financial crisis and I’m not trying that hard. In crazy times when the failure of a major commercial bank isn’t the top headline in the New York Times I think it’s ok that I’m prioritizing my actual work over trying to understand what the hell is going on on Wall Street and elsewhere
Jay Leno just said something along the lines of “remember those stimulus checks? henry paulson wants them back. you need to give your money back to the rich people running wallstreet because they need it more than you!”
look you can spin spin spin spin spin this into some kind of rational explanation as to why we have to bail out the banks so they can keep the economy running and blah blah blah but when it comes down to it…everyone is broke right now and i’m more worried about the people that are losing their houses than random douches who might have to move back to the midwest with their parents for a couple months while they figure out what’s next.
